Winners, seconds and the Shergar Cup

It’s been a busy few weeks since our last post following Presburg’s win at Sandown. Since then he has ran twice at Ascot, finishing a good third to Forgotten Hero in a valuable Class 2 Handicap, then a really close 5th in the ultra competitive Shergar Cup Challenge where he was ridden by the top Australian jockey Craig Williams, representing the Rest of the World team.

We’ve had a string of seconds recently, including Lady Sylvia at Sandown (30th July); Zipedeedodah in a maiden at Lingfield (2nd August), won by Richard Hannon’s impressive juvenile Burnt Sugar; Posh Bounty at Brighton (6th August); and most recently Fast Dancer in an above-average maiden at Ripon (16th August).  It is of course frustrating to get beat however, on the other hand, it is pleasing to see the horses running so well.

The most recent success for the yard, and our 14th of the year so far, was recorded by Cincuenta Pasos who was given a confident ride by Jenny Powell in the Apprentice Handicap at Salisbury on 13th August. We were all delighted for his owners Mark Wellbelove and Peter Gleeson as a couple of Cincuenta’s previous efforts had been a little disappointing. He’s in again tomorrow (18th August) at Kempton, with Oisin Murphy on board.
